Apologies for the long lapse in news!

Apologies for such a long lapse in news on here. 
Apart from having to still limit my time on the computer, due to my spinal surgery last September, I'm also in the busy process of getting all my novels published as paperbacks. This is quite a painstaking task, with all the formatting etc. required, but I'm delighted to annouce that my very first novel THE SECRET, which originally came out as a kindle book in 2012, is now also available as a paperpack on Amazon priced £6.95.  Do take a look.

I'm really delighted with the result. I hope those of you who still prefer the feel of a physical book in your hands will think so too. The if anyone is contemplating using Amazon's CreatSpace for print publishing, do give it a go. It's a bit tricky to get your head around initially, but the information and tips that CreateSpace offer to guide you are very helpful. Here I'd like to thank my author pal, Lexi Revellian, for her help, especially with formatting the cover so brilliantly ready for print.

Mark and I also spent most of May in Spain at our shared co-ownership villa. The weather was fantastic most of the time and we had the most delightful rest and recuperation which included some wonderful reading time.

That's it for now, but I'll keep the blog posted of news when each paperback gets released. I'm currently working on A FACE TO DIE FOR and have abour 1/3 way still to go. Watch this space.

Wonderful news!

Hi,

Had some really wonderful news over the weekend!... Justin was given the go ahead by his consultant on Thursday to start doing some gentle load bearing on his right leg and foot. At hydro therapy physio on Friday he came out of the water and took his first few steps by the pool, albeit I think, with the aid of a crutch! AND he said it didn't hurt him!! It was very emotional for us to hear the brilliant news in an excited text from Lianne, his wife, while we were shopping in Debenhams. Mark and I were both so overcome with tears of joy at the time and had to go and have a coffee to recover! 

Fantastic Xmas present for us all! Yay! Hope he'll slowly be able to build up from this and get full mobility back now. Despite being quite early days yet, and having to take it still very carefully, he's just so fully motivated now :o) Lianne says he's had a big grin on his face just about ever since!!!

It's been such a worrying and upsetting time for us all over the past 14 weeks and we can only hope, God willing, he really is going to make a full recovery. :0)

Latest Update

Hi everyone,
Just a quick update ... At last I've had my spinal surgery which was about 10 days ago and I'm back home now hopefully making a slow but good recovery. Unable to spend too long sitting on the computer, so I won't be able to write much for a while, but never fear, the premise for a sequel to LOOKING AT YOU  is slowly forming in my head... So many people it seems, want to know more about the Greek storyline which was a sort of subplot in the last book.

Meanwhile I hope those of you who've got around to reading LOOKING AT YOU will have enjoyed it and will even perhaps feel enclined to give me a little review. They are always so welcome.
I'll try to keep the blog better posted from now on. It's been a crazy upheaval time in the past couple of months and I'm slowly coming down to earth.

RNA-N Lunch meeting today in Harrogate.

Thoroughly enjoyed attending the RNA-N lunch meeting today at The Smith Arms in Beckwithshaw, Harrogate... so lovely to catch up with a number of old pals again after so long. Sadly, several I'd love to have seen, couldn't be there. It must be about 20 years or more, since I first attended my first "Flying Ducks" meeting.

I enjoyed the fascinating chat around the table today, which was mostly about inspiration and the different ways in which many us found we got inspired to write. Some wonderfully apt quotes and sayings were read out too.

I have to say it was interesting to hear quite so many varied contributions, and to see that so many more writers are now embracing the eBook phenomenon. As one other lady said... Kindle has now liberated her... and I do agree. Indeed just like so many of us, who've struggled for years to find agents or publishers, it's great, that now with Kindle we can get our books out there to readers, and to a large degree be in control of the books'  destinies ourselves. Onwards and upwards, guys!

Good luck to everyone who's just got e-published !

Wonderful to hear about those attending who are having such success with their very latest books, whether printed or digital. For instance, I'm totally in awe of the number of books published by the likes of those around the table... Ken McCoy, Val Wood, Freda Lightfoot, Leah Fleming, and others, of course. Freda made a fleeting mention that she writes two books a year!!! I think we all gasped when she said that! Oh how I wish!!!
